Today more than ever international companies are looking for business graduates who understand the Brazilian market and are familiar with its language and culture of Latin America's largest country. This four-week summer (May 18-June 12) program combines Portuguese language training with a professional level course on Brazil. During the first three weeks in Rio de Janeiro, students take business- oriented Portuguese language instruction (at either the beginning or intermediate levels) at the Instituto Brasil-Estados Unidos (IBEU) in the mornings. The afternoon portion of the Rio program, hosted by the School of Business at the Catholic University (PUC-Rio), consists of academic lectures and discussions in English on its campus, complemented by visits to prominent local companies. For the fourth week the program moves to São Paulo for visits to local companies and financial institutions. Program Fee: $TBA. The program fee does not include airfare but does cover tuition for 6 transfer credits, housing with 2 meals a day in Rio, excursions in Rio and São Paulo, travel to and hotel rooms in São Paulo and Paraty.
