About the Location

Melbourne is the capital city of Victoria and has been ranked as one of the world's most livable cities. It is referred to as Australia's "cultural capital" and is the birthplace of Australian impressionism, Australian football, and a number of Australian film and television industries. Federation Square is the cultural center, with a number of cafes, restaurants, and performances. It is also very convenient to travel around the city, with Melbourne having one of the largest operating tram networks in the world. To read more about the city, click here.

Academic Credits

As this is a UF exchange program, credits taken can satisfy major, minor, and elective course requirements with prior approval. UF GPA credit will be granted for all courses taken at La Trobe University. Course information can be found here. Please make sure that you select "For exchange students".

On-campus accommodation is offered and you will have your own bedroom located on a shared floor. You will have access to a kitchen to prepare your own meals or you may sign up to have some meals catered. You can also choose to sign up for a homestay or off-campus housing. Financial Aid

Most financial aid that you would receive on campus during the semester can be applied toward the cost of this study abroad program; however, all financial aid eligibility is determined by Student Financial Affairs. You must speak with Allison Costa, the study abroad financial aid advisor, to determine what aid can be applied to the cost of this study abroad program, including scholarships.

Application Fee

A $300 non-refundable service charge is assessed for students participating in single semester terms and a $500 non-refundable service charge is assessed for all participating in Academic Year programs. This charge is due within 21 days of the application. Students will be charged regular UF tuition while participating  in the program. Tuition at La Trobe University will be waived.
