About the Program

UF at Salzburg offers programs in Music and European Studies and is open to all majors. Music majors and minors may take private lessons, music history and/or arranging. The European Studies program provides major credit for History and Political Science majors.

About the Location

Salzburg is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. With a population of about 150,000, Salzburg is situated in the heart of Europe on the northern edge of the eastern Alps right at the Austrian-German border. Surrounded by picturesque mountains, the city still mirrors in its historical center – a declared UNESCO World Heritage Site - more than a thousand years of European history and culture. Its rich and vibrant cultural heritage is reflected in concerts, festivals and a great variety of events throughout the year.

Excursions

Excursions include a 4-day trip to Munich including hotel stay, breakfast, and events; 4-day trip to Vienna, guided walking tours, palace tours, Mauthausen Concentration Camp, and a daytrip to Salzkammergut lake region.

Housing

You will be housed in dorm-like facilities (three students per room).

Financial Aid

Most financial aid that you would receive on campus during the summer can be applied toward the cost of this study abroad program; however, all financial aid eligibility is determined by Student Financial Affairs. You must speak with your financial aid advisor to determine what aid can be applied to the cost of this study abroad program, including scholarships.

What's Included:

6 UFGPA credits, housing, 3 meals a day, guided walking tours, cultural day trips, 4-day Vienna trip, 3-day Munich trip, various events, international health insurance, and emergency medical assistance.

What's Not Included:

Round-trip airfare, additional personal travel, and personal expenses.

A $350 nonrefundable deposit toward the total cost of the program is due at the time of application. The remaining fees are due no later than 45 days prior to departure. If you receive financial aid, you can defer payment until it disburses. Deferment decision will be based on the amount of aid to be received.
