About the University

The University of Queensland was founded in 1910 and was the first university in the state. It is one of the top 100 universities worldwide with 50,000 students and 13,000 international students from 141 different nations. UQ has a strong focus on teaching excellence, having won more Australian Awards for University Teaching than any other in the country and attracting the majority of Queensland's highest academic achievers, as well as top interstate and overseas students. The University of Queensland is focused on providing students with the tools they need to excel in their chosen field and has a dedicated support staff to ease international students in their transition to Australia.

About the Location

The University of Queensland is located in Brisbane, which is the capital and most populous city in the state of Queensland. Brisbane has a wide mix of restaurants, shopping, nightlife, nature and wildlife. It contains various sites to explore such as South Banks Parkland and the Gallery of Modern Art. The city also has an active sports scene and is home to its very own rugby league team, the Brisbane Broncos. The popular central business district is situated inside a bend of the Brisbane River, making it a popular spot for kayaking. To read more about the city, click here.


Academic Credits

As this is a UF exchange program, credits taken can satisfy major, minor, and elective course requirements with prior approval. UF GPA credit will be granted for all courses taken at University of Queensland. Click here to search available courses. University of Queensland Accommodation Services provides information to assist you in finding a home that's right for you and to make your arrival as smooth as possible. Financial Aid

Most financial aid that you would receive on campus during the semester can be applied toward the cost of this study abroad program; however, all financial aid eligibility is determined by Student Financial Affairs. You must speak with Allison Costa, the study abroad financial aid advisor, to determine what aid can be applied to the cost of this study abroad program, including scholarships.

Application Fee

A $300 non-refundable service charge is assessed for students participating in single semester terms and a $500 non-refundable service charge is assessed for all participating in Academic Year programs. This charge is due within 21 days of the application. Students will be charged regular UF tuition while participating in the program. Tuition at QUT will be waived.
