European Studies
Summer A: June 2-July 20, 2018

About the Program

Spend your summer learning about the European Union in the heart of Europe. Take advantage of an opportunity to partake fully in student life at Vesalius College, an English language international college within the Dutch-speaking Belgian Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Take courses with students from all over the world and benefit from all student resources (including full library, computer facilities, cafeteria, and gym access). This program is part of the European Union Studies Minor and Certificate program, as well as the new International Studies major.

About the Location

Half Dutch-speaking and half French-speaking, Belgium is a fascinating region of Europe. Brussels is the capital of Belgium, as well as the capital of the European Union. Headquarters for the European Union, NATO, and countless other international organizations, Brussels is a cosmopolitan city that attracts a diverse international population. Brussels' central location makes it easy to explore Europe before or after the program.

Past excursions have included: EU Parliament, Brugges, NATO headquarters, the EU Council, and the EU Commission. There are also opportunities to travel on your own (1:15 to Paris, 1:45 to London, and 2:30 to Amsterdam by train).

You will share a bedroom with another student in a fully furnished apartment with kitchen facilities convenient to the university and central atractions.

Explore Life in Europe Today through an Examination of the European Union.

Experience Belgium's Multicultural and Cosmopolitan Culture.
