UF Business in Brazil

The International Management Consortium was created through the support of U.S. and Brazilian Departments of Education (FIPSE and CAPES).  The goal of the consortium is to offer UF business students the opportunity to prepare for the increasing competitiveness of global markets. Acceptance to and participation in the program provides   students with well-rounded training in the Portuguese language and business through coursework completed at Brazilian universities.

Brazil is the largest country in Latin America and is ranked as the ninth largest economy in the world.  In spite of the recent downturns in its neighbor, Argentina, Brazil    continues to hold strong.  In light of Brazil?s status as a  leading emerging market, business students now more than ever, need to understand the intricacies of the Brazilian market and its culture in order to be successful there.

Academic Credits

As this is a UF program, credits taken can satisfy major, minor, and university requirements with prior approval.  UF GPA credit will be earned with courses taught by professors at the Rio de Janeiro-Catholic University (PUC-Rio).

Housing

All students live with Brazilian host families,  who are requested to speak only Portuguese with their American guests.
