About the Program

Earn six credits through this interdisciplinary program that enables students to enhance their knowledge in engineering, life sciences, and planning processes and combine it with hands on lab work and company visits. The students benefit from the application oriented and interdisciplinary approach of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences to address and solve major problems on the way to a sustainable use of natural resources and innovative development.

About the Location

Osnabrück is located in Lower Saxony in Northwestern Germany. The peace agreement between Protestants and the Catholics that helped end the the 30 Years' War was brokered here, earning it the nickname "City of Peace."

Excursions

  • Tour of KME, a copper manufacturing industry
  • Visit to Krone and Amazone, manufacturers of harvester and tillage equipment
  • Tour of GM-Hütte, a steel manufacturing industry
  • Travel to Berlin and Bonn, with optional excursions to Amsterdam, Hamburg, and Paris for an additional fee
  • Tour of an electric power plant
  • Tour of the Artland Brewery
  • Trips to castles, palaces, and museums

Housing

You may be sharing a double room with another student in a historical, newly-renovated guesthouse near the University of Applied Sciences campus.

Financial Aid

Any financial aid that you would receive on campus during the summer can be applied toward the cost of this study abroad program.

2018 Pricing

2018 Undergraduate Program Fee: $3,786 + UF tuition based on student’s residency.
Students will receive two different invoices, one from UFIC (program fees) and one from the UF Bursar (UF tuition)

A $350 nonrefundable deposit toward the total cost of the program is due at the time of application. The remaining fees are due no later than 45 days prior to departure. If you receive financial aid, you can defer payment until it disburses. Deferment decision will be based on the amount of aid to be received.

What's Included:

Housing, local transportation, international health insurance, and medical emergency assistance.

What's Not Included:

Round-trip airfare, additional personal travel, and personal expenses.
