About the University

The Queensland University of Technology was founded in January 1989. Since then, the school has continued to grow and develop. QUT now has 50,000 students with 6,000 international students. The university is known as a "university for the real world" due to its connection with the industry as well as the relevant teaching. The academic staff consult in industry and work on industry projects which often involve students. The university also ranked in the top 300 universities globally in 2016.

About the Location

QUT is located in Brisbane, which is the capital and most populous city in the state of Queensland. Brisbane has a wide mix of restaurants, shopping, nightlife, nature and wildlife. It contains various sites to explore such as South Banks Parkland and the Gallery of Modern Art. The city also has an active sports scene and is home to its very own rugby league team, the Brisbane Broncos. The popular central business district is situated inside a bend of the Brisbane River, making it a popular spot for kayaking. To read more about the city, click here.


Academic Credits

As this is a UF exchange program, credits taken can satisfy major, minor, and elective course requirements with prior approval. UF GPA credit will be granted for all courses taken at QUT. Course information can be found here

Financial Aid

Most financial aid that you would receive on campus during the semester can be applied toward the cost of this study abroad program; however, all financial aid eligibility is determined by Student Financial Affairs. You must speak with Allison Costa, the study abroad financial aid advisor, to determine what aid can be applied to the cost of this study abroad program, including scholarships.

Application Fee

A $300 non-refundable service charge is assessed for students participating in single semester terms and a $500 non-refundable service charge is assessed for all participating in Academic Year programs. This charge is due within 21 days of the application. Students will be charged regular UF tuition while participating in the program. Tuition at QUT will be waived.
