In order to provide an even more extensive list of opportunities to UF engineering students, the college of engineering has partnered with IIE/Global Engineering Education Exchange (GE3) to enhance it's offerings.  Programs listed under the GE3 option are exchange programs and run at the same cost as other UF exchange programs.

GE3...

• is an international exchange program for engineering students at member institutions.
• overseas members include a consortium of western European universities plus selected individual institutions in other world regions, including Asia, central and eastern Europe and Latin America.
• provides opportunities for students to receive academic credit for courses taken at an overseas institution and practical training in a foreign setting for summer, semester or academic year
• has been recognized and supported by the National Science Foundation and the US Department of Education.

HOW GE3 WORKS
Member schools are listed on the GE3 website with more specific information at the application site.   Students will not be able to choose a particular school to study at but must be willing to keep options open.  It is important to put at least 3 choices of schools of interest.

Each university listing includes:

• engineering disciplines available
• languages of instruction
• start and end dates for academic study
• a link to each university's home page which includes housing information

Students also have the opportunity to take intensive language study and perhaps undertake a practice, paid internship in an industrial setting or laboratory in the host country

About the Institution

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) was established on January 10, 1997 when PETRONAS was invited by the Malaysian government to set up a university.
